Carla Umlauf is a second generation Austinite and is highly involved in the culture, business and development of this city. The strength of her connections, knowledge of residential construction & design, and experience in contract negotiations and marketing has moved Carla up the list as one of Austin’s Top Producing Agents. Over her career, she has sold over $80 million in volume and has helped over 300 families in real estate transactions. She is a member of the Luxury Homes Division at Keller Williams and continues to make the Million Dollar List each month.
Carla received her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin. As a Child Protective Services social worker, Carla worked first hand with families and various agencies to help children escape abuse and neglect. This taught her the importance of crisis management, negotiation, and navigating a complex network of professionals and organizations. Her experience in conducting Home Studies lead her into her career Since entering real estate, Carla has been a consistent multi-million-dollar producer.
The foundation of Carla’s success is a relentless work ethic, her unique background, and an extensive network of friends and colleagues. She strives to give each client honest advice and personalized attention. She takes pride in her platinum level of customer service and attention to detail on each transaction. The majority of her business stems from repeat and referral clientele. Carla has represented local Executives with RGM Advisors, C3 Presents, Frog Design, Happy Cog as well as Amazon and Charles Schwab who have trusted her with their relocation to Austin.
Carla is proud of her family’s long tradition of giving back to the community. In 1985, her grandparents, Charles and Angie Umlauf, donated their home, artist studio, and acreage above Barton Springs to the City of Austin and founded the Umlauf Sculpture Garden and Museum. Carla continues to honor her grandparents’ legacy by serving on the non-profit’s Board of Trustees. She works with the City of Austin and the Parks and Recreation Department to promote the operation of the Umlauf Sculpture Garden and Museum nonprofit. Carla has worked with other art projects, including a recent exhibition at Hotel Ella and a sculpture dedication to the Austin Independent School District.
Carla and her husband Cass have two daughters who share their interest in art, dance, good food, and friends. They love spending time outdoors, enjoying Austin events, hosting parties and spending time with their lab, Maggie and Springer Spaniel, Oliver.
