A Note From Carla

Austin, Texas is my home. It’s an amazing city full of world-class music venues, restaurants, and museums. It’s an eclectic place full of high-tech companies, dynamic neighborhoods, expansive greenspace, college students, live concerts, delicious food, and authentic charm. Austin is part of who I am, and I love helping others find their place here.

I attended the University of Texas at Austin and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work. My first job was with Child Protective Services which was both a humbling and eye-opening experience. It taught me how to manage crises and negotiate difficult, often tragic situations. These skills, along with my intimate knowledge of Austin and a strong understanding of the real estate marke have helped me become a consistent multi-million dollar producer.

The majority of my business stems from repeat and referral clientele because I provide honest advice and personalized attention. I have represented local Executives with RGM Advisors, C3 Presents, Frog Design, Happy Cog as well as Amazon and Charles Schwab who have trusted me with their relocation to Austin.

Austin is a wonderful place to raise a family. My husband, Cass Cheesar, is a local architect who owns a design-build firm. Our careers naturally intermesh, and we have collaborated on construction and design projects since the day we met. We have worked together on land acquisition, finish selections, and project marketing. Oftentimes we share clients who need both of our skill sets. In 2006, we renovated our 1950s ranch-style house in Central Austin. This was a labor of love, and it has been a wonderful home for us and our two beautiful daughters.

Family has always been a fundamental part of who I am. My grandparents, Charles and Angie Umlauf, were gracious and active members of the Austin community. I remember the warmth and inspiration I felt in their home, a mid-century house and studio on the hill above Barton Springs. In 1985, my grandparents donated their home and more than 150 sculptures to the City of Austin to help create the Umlauf Sculpture Garden and Museum. As a member of the Board of Trustees there, I hope to honor their legacy of charity and civic duty.

This is where I live. Austin is my home, and I love it dearly. I look forward to helping you find your home in Austin.
